
It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.
The Baby Boom began as most returning World War II veterans and their spouses started families, all at the same time. That led to increased demand for just about everything, so the economy boomed. Parenting changed, thanks to Dr. Spock, and children were no longer to be seen but not heard, and we haven’t shut up since. It seemed like nothing was impossible, including putting a man on the Moon. And then there was the Civil Rights Movement, the Kennedy assassinations and Martin Luther King’s. Later it was the Vietnam War on television and then Watergate. We Boomers were coming of age and soon it would be our turn to take the reins.
